Helping you find security in an insecure world ® – no matter what!

We feel we are different. We know many advisors out there can say that, but we feel that we can demonstrate that fact.

One important way that we are different is that EVERY PRODUCT WE SELL HAS A GUARANTEE...and we believe that should apply to your investment portfolios as well.

Our approach is very holistic and tax-centric. In other words, 'big picture' thinking. Understanding that insurance is only one piece of the puzzle; that your investments are another piece of the puzzle; as are government benefits and group insurance - it's critically important for you to understand how all these pieces come together, in order for you to leverage them to your benefit.

That's where our core competencies can benefit you. Most advisors think of financial planning as a one time event. They prepare an elaborate plan which is usually obsolete by the time they deliver it to their clients.

Our financial planning process is to first recognize the concept of Critical Financial Events. Critical Financial Events are anything and everything that pertains to and affects your finances either now or in the future. Our Approch Therefore, our approach to planning is different. We have developed a very specific process because in our experience, Canadians need financial plans that reflect our lives as they are actually lived. For that reason we focus on Critical Financial Events. Critical Financial Events are sometimes predictable – such as retirement, selling your house or business, or getting married or starting a family – and are often random or unexpected – such as a serious illness, a death, an inheritance, or losing a job.

Whether planned or unplanned, they always have a profound impact on our lives. Each person’s life will have its own unique pattern of Critical Financial Events, and we believe that proper Financial Planning is the process of planning for or reacting to Critical Financial Events.  Your life will have its own unique pattern of Critical Financial Events as it unfolds in the fullness of time. You will be much happier throughout your life and have greater peace of mind if you have planned for the different possible events that can occur. Our Approch Our purpose is to cushion the effects of the Critical Financial Events in your life so you stay on track and reach your financial goals and objectives. We do this by recognizing the significance of critical financial events, understanding your goals, objectives and current circumstances and by using our resources, knowledge and expertise to provide advice and develop a long term relationship of trust and understanding so we can achieve your goals at any juncture in your life.

Once we have agreed to move forward on an overall plan, and before we recommend any product it must meet certain internal benchmark criteria that we have created in terms of performance, tax-efficiency, features and guarantees. At RJ Rau & Associates, every product we offer has a guarantee.

As a client, we don't throw you in a drawer and forget about you. For that reason we have created a document called a Personal Financial Policy Statement (PFPS) which is designed to help us ensure that we are on track to help you realize your goals and objectives. On an annual or semi-annual basis we will review your PFPS and your plans. We will look at your goals regularly. We're going to make sure we achieve them. That's where we are focused.

Service Bell

Another way that we are different is that one of the first things we will do is to commit to and sign off on a Client Service Agreement. This is your bill of rights as our client. It spells out exactly what you can expect from us, and what we expect in return - We will mutually agree on it and both sign off on it.
